ERASMUS+ OUTGING STUDENTS
As part of this program, the Academy of Music has established cooperation with partner institutions throughout Europe. Our students are thus able to study at foreign academies for one to two semesters with financial support from the Erasmus+ fund. Without taking an entrance exam and paying tuition fees, our students can attend classes in foreign institutions and, after completing their study stay, obtain ECTS points.
- full-time student of the Academy of Music University of Zagreb
- achieved 60 ECTS points in the course of studies so far
- Erasmus students are exempt from paying tuition fees at foreign higher education institutions. They remain enrolled at the home institution of the University of Zagreb. During the duration of the mobility period, they are obliged to continue paying school fees if they belong to the category of students who fully or partially finance their studies themselves.
- plan your departure in time (a year in advance) and find out all the information you need about the program/courses you want to enroll at a certain university/academy before sending your application to the call. It is best to establish contact with the professor of the main subject and get his consent (which still does not guarantee the acceptance of your application, as the Erasmus commission of the respective academy/university makes the final decision)
- special attention should be paid to the language in which classes are conducted (whether the language is a special requirement) and the deadlines for nomination to a foreign university (depends on the application for the winter or/summer semester).
- financial support amounts to EUR 500-550 per month (depending on the country), which covers only part of the costs of studying abroad.
- during the stay abroad, the student must earn at least 25 ECTS credits per semester
- in the event that more candidates apply to one of the academies than there are places according to the bilateral agreement, the Academy committee appointed by the Dean will carry out the selection of candidates. Therefore, it is recommended to choose several destinations (maximum 3) so that in the event that your first choice does not pass, you can still go on an exchange to another foreign institution.
- priority is given to students who have not yet participated in any of the mobility programs during their studies.
The University of Zagreb publishes the call with detailed instructions on the website of the Office for International Cooperation of the University of Zagreb: http://www.unizg.hr/suradnja/medunarodna-razmjena/razmjena-studenata/natjecaji/ at the beginning of the year (January/February) for the following academic year for both semesters – winter and summer.
The student fills out the online application form (the link is published in the text of the competition), which is printed and submitted together with the complete documentation specified in the competition to the Erasmus+ coordinator of the academy (the Head of the International Cooperation Office at the Academy of Music).
The student applies only for the place and subject fields agreed by the Music Academy. A detailed list of foreign universities with which the Academy of Music has signed the agreements (subject field, number of student places, number of months per student and degree of study) is published in the Annex to the Call.
Usually, the following documents were mandatory to submit with the application (please be sure to check the exact list of documents in each new call for tenders):
- curriculum vitae (Europass c.v. in Croatian)
- letter of motivation in Croatian (up to 300 words)
- a transcript of the exams passed so far and grades and ECTS points earned, issued by the student service (referada) of the home academy (in Croatian) and a certificate of the semester enrolled
- proof of knowledge of the language of the country he is going to or in which he is teaching:
- If the student has passed the language at the university - min. 2 years, the faculty issues a language proficiency certificate
- Certificate of foreign language school; or
- Confirmation from the Center for Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb.
- for students with special needs - confirmation from an authorized institution
- for students with fewer opportunities – supporting documentation (a detailed list is published with the call).
The final results of the call and the decision on accepted students are published on the website of the Office for International Cooperation of the University of Zagreb after the University receives notification from the Agency for Mobility and EU programs on the number of approved places/months for study stay.
After the announcement of the results of the call (for students of the Academy of Music in mid-July, due to special application conditions - students of the Academy of Music are the only ones entitled to apply to 3 receiving institutions), students are obliged to familiarize themselves in detail with the Instructions for selected students, published with the call. According to the notification of the coordinator from the central office for international cooperation of the University of Zagreb, students are obliged to submit to the coordinator from the University documentation for drawing up an Erasmus+ mobility contract as soon as possible, so that the contract can be prepared in time for the students to receive the first instalment of Erasmus+ support before leaving for mobility.
During the mobility, students are required to obtain a minimum of 25 ECTS credits per semester of mobility. Upon arrival at a foreign institution, they check whether it is possible to follow all the courses that are included in the Learning Agreement and, if necessary, make corrections to their Learning Agreement in the first 4 weeks of their stay at the foreign institution. They receive a confirmation of arrival from the receiving institution (Confirmation of start/arrival or Statement of Host institution), which they are obliged to submit to their coordinator from the central office for international cooperation of the University of Zagreb and to the Erasmus+ coordinator of the Academy of Music. At the end of their mobility, the institution issues a Transcript of Records that fully corresponds to the latest version of the Learning Agreement (with any changes introduced at the beginning of the mobility). At the end of the mobility, the students receive a confirmation of the completed mobility (Confirmation of start and end or Statement of Host Institution) from the institution with the exact start and end dates of the mobility. Please pay attention to the start and end dates of the physical mobility and the signature and stamp of the foreign institution on all the necessary places.
At the end of the mobility, students are required to submit all the necessary documentation for closing the mobility to their coordinator from the central office for international cooperation of the University of Zagreb (detailed instructions can be found in the Instructions for selected students of the University of Zagreb and are published with each call). Particular attention should be paid to the accuracy and consistency of the Transcript of Records and the Learning Agreement. Upon submission of complete documentation, the central office of the University of Zagreb closes the mobility, which is the basis for payment of the remaining part of the Erasmus+ mobility grant.
