ERASMUS+ TEACHER AND STAFF MOBILITIES

The Erasmus+ program enables the teaching staff of higher education institutions to teach at a foreign institution. Opportunities for professional development are available to teaching and non-teaching staff of higher education institutions. Members of the teaching and non-teaching staff apply for a call announced by the University of Zagreb, as a rule, once a year in May/June.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Types of mobility for teaching/non-teaching staff:

  1. teaching - teaching staff, 2 days to 6 weeks (at least 8 hours of teaching)
    2. training – teaching and non-teaching staff, 2 days to 6 weeks
    3. teaching - lecturers from companies outside the Republic of Croatia, 1 day to 6 weeks (at least 8 hours of teaching)

The period in which mobility can be achieved is determined by the call.

WHERE TO GO

Mobility between EU member states and third countries associated with the program

The mobility of outgoing staff for the purpose of teaching at partner institutions is realized exclusively on the basis of inter-institutional agreements concluded between the University of Zagreb (constituent) and foreign institutions that have been granted an Erasmus university charter. It is not necessary to conclude an inter-institutional agreement for training. The relationship between the staff member and the respective institution is determined by the individual working plan.

Mobility is possible to countries participating in the Erasmus+ program (member states of the European Union, EFTA states (without Switzerland), Turkey and Macedonia).

Mobility between EU member states and third countries that are not affiliated to the program

Mobility of outgoing staff for the purpose of teaching/training at partner institutions in the so-called third countries that are not affiliated to the program is realized exclusively on the basis of inter-institutional Erasmus+ agreements concluded between the University of Zagreb and foreign institutions in third countries, and on the basis of an expression of interest by the constituents of the University of Zagreb. The list of partner institutions in third countries outside the EU is available here and in each call for outgoing staff mobility.
The relationship between the staff member and the respective institution is determined by the individual working plan.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Financial support includes support for living expenses and support for travel expenses. Details of financial support are published with the call.

STAFF WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (with disabilities or specific physical, mental, health needs)

Erasmus+ pays special attention to orientation, acceptance, physical accessibility, pedagogical and technical support, and especially financing additional costs for students and staff whose physical, mental or health circumstances are such that their participation in the program would not be possible without additional financial support. Personnel with special needs have the right to an increased amount of financial support due to possible increased costs when realizing mobility.

In order to apply for Erasmus+ additional financial support for special needs, in the preparatory phase of your Erasmus+ mobility you should specify your needs and anticipate additional costs related to your specific physical, mental or health circumstances. Depending on individual needs, items that are formally eligible for additional financial support during Erasmus+ mobility include, among others: adapted accommodation (cost difference compared to regular accommodation), travel assistance, medical care, additional equipment, adapted teaching material, accompanying person, etc.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Candidates for the mobility of teaching and non-teaching staff are selected through a call announced by the University of Zagreb. As a rule, the call is announced once a year in May/June.

SELECTION OF CANDIDATES

The selection of candidates is carried out by the Committee for the selection of students and employees in the mobility programs of the University of Zagreb. Teaching and non-teaching staff who apply for the call and pass the administrative check, but do not receive the financial support, can go on exchange at their own expense (so-called zero-grant staff).
