CEEPUS
CEEPUS is a Central European academic exchange program for students and teachers, offering the opportunity to study at universities in Central and Southeast Europe with scholarships in accordance with the living standards of the receiving countries. In Croatia, the CEEPUS program is coordinated by the Agency for Mobility and EU Programs https://ampeu.hr/Ceepus
The program supports the mobility of teachers and undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and doctoral students. Through CEEPUS, students and teachers of all public higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia can achieve mobility in one of the 15 countries of Central and Eastern Europe that participate in the program along with Croatia (Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia). Students who achieve mobility within the framework of the CEEPUS program are exempt from paying tuition fees at a foreign higher education institution. The backbone of the program is CEEPUS networks (partnerships of related higher education institutions), which consist of at least 3 higher education institutions from at least three CEEPUS participating countries.
The national CEEPUS office of the receiving country grants a scholarship and the receiving higher education institution provides for the realisation of the professional part of the programme. On average, more than 500 students and teachers from Croatia go to mobility through CEEPUS per year, while more than 450 scholarship holders come to Croatian higher education institutions.
The CEEPUS program primarily promotes mobility within CEEPUS networks. CEEPUS networks are partnerships of related or complementary higher education institutions from several countries participating in CEEPUS. In addition to mobilities realized through networks, it is also possible to realize mobilities outside networks (freemovers) within the framework of CEEPUS.
