The String Chamber Orchestra at the Academy of Music has been active since the fall of 2006 as part of the string instrument curriculum, founded at the initiative of Jože Haluza. It operates independently, without a conductor, allowing students from the string department to gain their first experiences and skills in collective music-making within a larger ensemble by performing a wide range of musical repertoire. Since the academic year 2021/2022, the mentor of the String Chamber Orchestra has been Professor Anđelko Krpan.
